This new collection explores themes of navigation and cartography as a poetic echo of bird migration. It was presented for a solo exhibition at Galerie Hamon in Le Havre, France.
I worked on carefully sourced antique maps and navigation objects — such as compasses, barometers and globes — using them as starting points to paint different bird species. These works reflect instinctive trajectories and the memory of invisible journeys. Together, they create an immersive space, somewhere between a map room and a contemporary cabinet of curiosities.
Latitude / Longitude is conceived as a sensitive map, shaped by migration, travel and imagination.
